I'm trying to simulate a no slip indentation test whereby the indenter was actually sticky such that no slip occurred. Since the contact slowly develops it seems the only way to incorporate no slip at present is to include friction in a sliding interface and adjust the penalty/friction parameters accordingly. However this is non-trivial to get right (some slip remains in my models also) and is not computationally efficient. Is there an easier way to enforce no slip? If not I hereby post this as a feature request.

Importantly I do not mean a tied interface but an contact interface that slowly develops where nodes become glued once they touch the material.

Hi Kevin,

Again, apologies for the late response, but there now is a variation of the tied interface that does this exactly. It is called the "sticky" interface. It is supported in PreView, so check it out and let us know if that works for you.
